Utah-Taihu Institute of Environmental Research

Utah-Taihu Institute of Environmental Research (UTIER) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that brings together government, academic and business leaders to build a healthier global environment and promote bilateral economic growth.

UTIER focuses on transferring environmental remediation and clean energy technologies from the United States to China. UTIER not only encourages technology exchange, but also provides technical consulting and promotes the exchange of ideas and information through conferences and student and professional exchanges.

UTIER has established a working model for technology transfer. We facilitate the licensing of American technologies to Chinese companies, expediting the development and commercialization of these technologies. Once the technology has been licensed we build demonstration projects to show the commercial feasibility of the technology. These projects introduce new technology to China and show how UTIER functions as a model for technology transfer.

UTIER currently partners with over fifteen organizations in both the public and private sector.
