Soil and Sediment Lab
Soil Sediment Laboratory
The University of Utah is supporting the Soil and Sediment Laboratory with soil restoring technology. The lab will use this advanced technology to research and find solutions to the soil and sediment problems in China. The Taihu Lake basin’s soil is a rich resource and the biodiversity of the area allows this facility the opportunity to work on the front lines of the soil environmental science field as researchers analyze the origins and the effects of pollutants on this ecosystem. The goal of the research done in this lab is to accelerate the pace of research of soil science, promote the industrialization of soil restoring technology, and promote sustainable agricultural development, ecological environmental construction of cities and town and promote public health and safety.
Principal research areas:
- Soil pollution control and restoring
- The pollution restoring integration technology of sediment in heavily polluted lake areas
- Pollutants control and in-site remediation technology of contaminated site
- Environmental remediation organic pollutants and combined pollutants in the soil
- Pollution control technology of sediment
